Bushey Sports Club started their new Herts Senior County Premier Division campaign by picking up four points in two hard-fought home games.

Formerly Metropolitan Police Bushey, last year’s champions were behind on three separate occasions on Saturday against Whitwell but eventually ground out an enthralling 4-4 draw courtesy of goals from Michael Roche, Jack Brown, Dean Williams and Elliott Harris.

There were no such defensive frailities on Tuesday as another Williams goal in the second half was enough to secure a 1-0 win against Bush Hill Rangers.

It was a similar story for Mill End Sports as they backed up an opening day draw with a comprehensive home win.

Karl Swan’s first-half goal had given Sports a half-time lead on Saturday but Belstone equalised in the second period to share the points.

A slightly subdued opening fixture was followed by an impressive goal-filled win over a Bovingdon team, who are propping up the table after the first two games.

Swan continued where he left off at the weekend by smashing a hat-trick while Aaron Whittingham, Andrew Pryor, Simon Whall also added the extras as they ran out 6-2 winners.

The poor Mill End result added to Bovingdon’s misery after an initial 5-2 opening home loss to Bedmond Sports and Social Club.

With the half-time score neatly poised at 1-1, the hosts capitulated.

Josh Bundey and Mike Moore scored for Bovingdon, while Callum Hailey, Vinne James, Aaron Lewis, Daniel Campbell and Gary Sippetts hit the goals for the visitors.

Bedmond still boast a 100 per cent record and continued their fine away form with a 2-0 win over Sandridge Rovers.

Joel Williams and Lee Taylor got the second-half strikes to put them third.

Chipperfield Corinthians also remain pointless after two disappointing performances.

A 4-2 home loss to Cuffley at the weekend was followed up with defeat on the road at Sarratt.

Henry Hadaway and Ben Picton scored Chipperfield’s two consolations on Saturday and they then drew a blank in the 2-0 away defeat.

Sarratt enjoyed a good opening week as their Chipperfield win was added to with a 6-3 win at Hinton.

Shaun Banham grabbed a brace with Sam Chapman, Robbie Martin, Ian McIntosh and Mark Shanahan also finding the net.

Bushey Rangers lie fourth in the fledgling Division One table after grabbing four points from their first two matches.

Ricardo Faux-James and Chris Dunn hit the all-important goals in Saturday’s 2-1 triumph at Harvesters 2012, while Michael Carroll’s goal on Tuesday night gave them a 1-1 draw at Old Parmiterians.

Parmiterians’ mid-week draw with Bushey Rangers was an improvement on Saturday’s fortunes as they went down 2-1 at home to Evergreen. Chris Colman got his side’s goal.

On the back of the dismissal of Parmiterians, a memorable second-half comeback wrapped up a 4-2 victory for Evergreen to put them third on Wednesday.

Two goals down at half-time, they dug deep to score four and take all three points.
