Seven Watford players receive international call-ups
Seven Watford players have been called up for international duty by their respective countries ahead of the international break.
Lloyd Doyley has once again been called up by Jamaica for their World Cup qualifying double-header.
The Reggae Boyz take on Panama on September 7 before hosting Costa Rica two days later.
Ikechi Anya has been called up by Scotland for the first time after impressing during the second-half of last season and starting this campaign strongly.
The wing-back has been included by Gordon Strachan for games against Belgium and Macedonia in World Cup 2014 qualification.
Scotland host Belgium on Friday, September 6 before travelling to Macedonia the following Tuesday.
Essaid Belkalem is included in Algeria’s squad for their World Cup qualifier in Mali and will look to build on 90 minutes played against Bournemouth on Wednesday evening.
Cristian Battocchio has been called up by Italy’s Under-21s again after making his debut recently against Slovakia.
Italy host Belgium’s Under-21s on Thursday, September 5 before travelling to Cyprus the next Tuesday in a 2015 Under-21 European Championship qualifier.
Jonathan Bond has also been called up by new England Under-21 coach Gareth Southgate for their European Championship qualifiers against Moldova and Finland on Thursday and Tuesday respectively.
Republic of Ireland Under-21 pair Sean Murray and Connor Smith are both in Noel King’s squad for their Under-21 European Championships qualifier against Germany on September 9.
