Oxhey Jets suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat against Dunstable in the Spartan South Midlands League

Oxhey Jets remain without a win in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division after suffering a heavy 4-0 defeat against Dunstable on Tuesday.
Jets fell behind after 13 minutes when BJ Christie netted following a defensive error from Kev Dee. Oxhey improved as the half continued and they went into the interval just one goal behind.
However, six minutes after the restart they fell further behind when James Baldry scored and Christie then added his second of the contest on the hour.
Jets’ task was made harder after Sam Phillips was dismissed for collecting a needless second yellow card.
Jonathan Cooper added a fourth with 15 minutes remaining and Christie secured his hat-trick late on to complete the rout.
There was better news on Saturday for Oxhey as they claimed their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw against Tring Athletic.
The two sides went in at half-time without troubling the score and the second period was close with both teams creating chances.
Tring went ahead in the contest when Jack Sunderland took advantage of an error in the back four to fire past David Jacks.
However, Jets found an equaliser 12 minutes from time as Tim O’Mara was brought down in the penalty area and Luke Beardsworth confidently converted the spot-kick to earn his side a share of the points.
On Tuesday, Tring claimed a 2-1 victory against Hatfield Town thanks to a Greg Deer strike and an 89th-minute winner from Martin Skinner.
