Watford's Lloyd Doyley plays in Jamaica's World Cup qualifying draw with Costa Rica
Lloyd Doyley played the full 90 minutes as Jamaica’s hopes of World Cup qualification suffered another blow following a 1-1 draw at home to Costa Rica, who secured their place in Brazil 2014 as a result.
Having also featured in his country’s 0-0 draw with Panama on Friday night, Doyley’s team looked to be heading for defeat when Randall Brenes capitalised on a bad pass from keeper Richard McCallum to fire the visitors in front.
The result leaves Jamaica still bottom of their CONCACAF group on four points, four adrift of the fourth-place finish they would need to seal a play-off against Oceania winners New Zealand.
Elsewhere, Doyley’s Hornets’ teammate Essaid Belkalem was an unused substitute as Africa Group H winners Algeria beat Mali 1-0.
