Radlett's Angus Gillams made county squash history but had to race against the clock in order to achieve it.
The 18-year-old overcame Nick Mulvey 3-1 in a thrilling match at Broxbourne Sports Club to lift the Hertfordshire Men’s Open.
After falling a game behind, the youngster, ranked 278 in the world, rallied to dominate the next three to clinch the title.
Gillams then had to race around the M25 to St Albans in order to compete in the Herts Junior Under-19 final.
Arriving just in time for the scheduled start, Gillams beat rival Josh Ryan 3-0 at the Nuffield Health Centre to complete an historic double.
Gillams’ experience showed as he played smart squash to outplay his energetic opponent and become the first Hertfordshire player to have won both categories in the same year.
