Bushey boxers Liam and Miles Shinkwin are looking forward to home support at the Watford Colosseum next month
Bushey boxers Liam and Miles Shinkwin are looking forward to the backing of their home crowd when professional boxing returns to the Watford Colosseum next month.
Southern Area Lightweight champion Liam Shinkwin headlines ‘The Boys Are Back In Town’ show on Saturday, October 5 when he faces Bulgarian Radoslav Mitev in a non-title bout over six rounds.
His cousin, Miles, is not far away from challenging for an area title himself and he will be the chief support when he has a six-rounder with Attila Szladek from Hungary.
The pair have sold around 400 tickets between them for the nine-fight show, which is expected to attract in excess of 1,000 fans, but the duo are hoping more people in the area will decide to attend in the week building up to the event.
Liam said: “We are hoping for some great local support. Selling tickets can be hard work but I think we will have a big crowd there and the more the merrier.”
He added: “With Watford away, if any of the Hornets fans not travelling could come and support me that would be much appreciated.”
Unreserved tickets are £40 and it is £65 for ringside seats with doors opening at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7pm.
Southern Area heavyweight champion Ian Lewison will be competing in one of the nine fights on the night.
Those hoping to buy tickets should ring 07773 352710 or 07985 707504.
