Oxhey Jets recorded back-to-back victories in the Premier Division for the first time this season after following up Saturday’s 3-0 win at Hertford Town with a 4-2 triumph against Hatfield Town on Tuesday.
In their midweek fixture, Jets fell behind early on but fought back and went into the interval ahead following goals from Adam Lowton and Sim Armstrong.
The young Oxhey side remained on the front foot in the second period and, following a mistake from the hosts’ goalkeeper, Armstong extended the lead.
The visitors looked in control but Hatfield pulled a goal back in the 73rd minute and nerves crept into the Jets’ game.
Oxhey came under heavy pressure but defended well and their win was secured when Chris Killer fired home.
Against Hertford on Saturday, Lowton, Luke Wells and Luke Beardsworth all netted in Jets’ victory. Elsewhere, Berkhamsted had to settle for a point and a 2-2 draw from their midweek Premier Division clash against AFC Dunstable.
BJ Christie put Dunstable ahead but goals from James Towell and Connor Calcutt in the space of six second-half minutes gave Berko the lead.
However, the home side claimed a point after Kyle Lincoln converted a late penalty following a foul from Ed Canham.
On Saturday, Berkhamsted made it through to the first round of the FA Vase after defeating Buckingham Town 3-2 in the second qualifying round.
Calcutt and Towell had seen their strikes cancelled out by Town but, with five minutes remaining, Dan Griggs found the net to set up a tie against Baldock Town in the next round of the competition.
Tring Athletic will also compete in the first round after they overcame Greenhouse London 4-1.
A Michael Green header put Tring ahead at the break and second-half goals from Matt Myatt and a Graham Hall brace sealed their victory.
Tring were in Premier Division action on Tuesday evening and defeated Hertford Town 3-1 thanks to two-goal Chris Vardy and a second-half strike from Hall.
Former Watford youngster Alex Campana inspired Kings Langley to a 4-2 victory at Amersham Town on Tuesday.
Campana netted the opening goal after just five minutes and added a second following a fine cross from Jack Johnson.
Kings went into the break with a one-goal lead however, as Ben Higham reduced the deficit after poor defending from a set piece.
A frenetic second period followed and Kings reasserted their two-goal advantage when Connor Toomey turned in a Campana cross.
Campana then completed his hat-trick after he lobbed the Amersham goalkeeper and a late Dan Tomlin strike was only a consolation for Town.
Three goals in four minutes cost Kings at the weekend as they were beaten 3-2 by Crawley Green.
Langley opened up a two-goal lead thanks to strikes from Adam Hallissey and Johnson.
However, Chris Gibson netted twice and Peter O’Donnell once to seal victory for Green.
Sun Postal Sports remain top of Division One despite a heavy 4-1 defeat against Welwyn Garden City on Wednesday.
James Armstrong had put Sun ahead but a Jason Caswell brace and goals from Perry Stellon and Liam Kenna saw the league leaders beaten.
There were better fortunes for Sun on Saturday as they overcame Amersham Town 4-1.
