An 86th-minute goal from Connor Calcutt helped Berkhamsted clinch a 3-2 victory in the Challenge Trophy first round against Sun Postal Sports on Tuesday.
Sun had gone ahead when Nathan Pooley struck but the score was level at the interval after Josh Chamberlain found the net.
Berko went ahead in the second period as Chamberlain netted his second of the contest, however Craig Lynsky equalised in the 82nd minute for the home side.
There was still time for a winner and it came for the visitors as Calcutt scored to send Berkhamsted through to the second round.
In Premier Division action at the weekend, Berko claimed a 2-1 win at London Colney despite playing the final 20 minutes with ten men.
The visitors went ahead when Adam Reid converted an early penalty but Colney hit back in the second period through Danny Fitzgerald.
Chamberlain grabbed Berko’s second shortly after the restart and despite Steve Hawes’ dismissal after receiving two yellow cards, they held out and claimed the points.
