Mixed fortunes for Kings
6:00pm Thursday 10th October 2013 in Sport
There were mixed fortunes for Kings Langley as they claimed a win but also suffered a defeat in their back-to-back Spartan South Midlands Division One matches.
Their midweek game ended in disappointment as an 89th-minute goal from Baris Turkmen saw FC Broxbourne Borough claim a 2-1 win.
Kings fell behind in the second period as Charlie Ledula netted for the home side.
Adam Hallissey equalised and it looked as though the points would be shared but a free-kick was met by Turkman and he found the net to seal victory for Borough.
There were better fortunes for Kings on Saturday as two first-half goals were enough for them to claim a 2-0 win against Winslow United.
A Jack Johnson header put Langley ahead in the 19th minute and on the half-hour mark the lead was doubled when Dean Hitchcock smashed home from 20 yards.
Kings were reduced to nine men in the second period. Paul Insley was shown two yellow cards and Alex Campana received a red for violent conduct.
