Ikechi Anya enhanced his reputation among the Scotland supporters with another impressive display last night as another Hornet was part of a team which finished bottom of their World Cup qualifying group.
Anya was making his third appearance for the Tartan Army last night and he was brought down for the penalty which led to Scotland's second goal and also made a crucial tackle to deny Croatia's Mario Mandžukić with the score 0-0.
Gordon Strachan's men secured their first home win of the unsuccessful World Cup qualifying campaign against Croatia thanks to Robert Snodgrass's header and a strike by Steven Naismith, which came after Barry Bannan's penalty was saved.
Anya played on the left of midfield and was taken off after 77 minutes with a minor knock.
Lloyd Doyley played 58 minutes for Jamaica during the 2-2 draw with Honduras. The result meant Honduras qualified for Brazil but Jamaica finished bottom of the six-team group with five points.
Scotland line-up: McGregor; Hutton, Martin, Hanley, Mulgrew; Bannan, Brown, Morrison, Anya; Snodgrass, Naismith.
Jamaica line-up: Kerr, Morgan, Mariappa, Phillips, Doyley, (Powell 58), Austin, Watson, McAnuff, Mattocks (Robinson 62), Brown (Johnson 77), Anderson.
