Edge Grove pupil TJ O’Sullivan has been crowned this year’s Prep Schools’ National Under-11 table tennis champion, following a day of competition in Croydon last weekend.
A team of four Edge Grove pupils took part in the Championships and TJ won all his group games before producing one of his best-ever wins to come through his semi-final, winning 11-9 in the fifth and deciding game against an England ranked opponent.
Having progressed to the final, TJ raised his game again to win 3-1 to become national champion.
Cordy O’Sullivan, 8, was the youngest participant and only girl to take part and did well to finish 16th.
Kavir Mehta and Redvers Gardner both impressed with determined play to finish 11th and seventh respectively.
