Danes Watford came from behind to win in a five-set thriller against London Knights on Saturday to cement their position at the top of volleyball's Men’s National Division One.
After a slow start and some indisciplined play, Danes quickly found themselves two sets down in just under an hour.
Danes coach Branislav Kovac made two changes, introducing Steve Fee and Laurence Russell in the third set and both players had an immediate effect.
Danes dominated from the service line to win the third and fourth sets and force a decider.
A nervy start saw London Knights race into a 3-0 lead but some fine defensive play coupled with more great hitting from Fee saw Danes win 15-12.
“Sitting top of the division after five games is a great feeling,” captain Stuart Back said.
“Our aim is to push on now and solidify our status as we look to break into Volleyball England’s Super 8.”
