Oxhey Jets through to the second round of FA Vase after 3-2 victory over Stotfold

Oxhey Jets are safely through to the second round of the FA Vase after a 3-2 home victory over Stotfold on Saturday.
Manager Wayne Gladdy named a strong side for the match and Jets were duly rewarded with an impressive win.
Dom David put the home side ahead just before the half-an-hour mark but their opponents equalised soon after.
Jets went into half-time ahead however as Sim Armstrong’s tame effort was fortuitously deflected in.
Luke Beardsworth, who was named man-of-the-match, reacted first to David’s parried shot to extend Jets’ lead and while Stotfold pulled one back with less than 20 minutes remaining, ths hosts held on for the victory.
Jets have been drawn at home to Hadleigh United in the second round, with the tie to be played on Saturday, November 16.
Gladdy's side return to league action tomorrow (Saturday) as they travel to London Colney.
Sun Postal Sports are top of Division One after thrashing struggling Langford 6-0 on Saturday with Dan Tomkins claiming a hat-trick.
Ashley Lewis, Dan Weeks, Max Moore all joined Tomkins on the scoresheet as Sun sit top of the pile, level on points with FC Broxbourne Borough but ahead on goal difference.
Sun are away to Winslow United tomorrow.
Kings Langley are only four points below Sun after securing six points in four days with victories over Risborough Rangers and Stony Stratford Town.
Kings hammered Stony Stratford 4-0 on Tuesday night with two goals towards the end of each half.
Connor Toomey opened the scoring in the 35th minute and just three minutes later Gary Connolly weaved his way through three defenders before finishing off a stunning goal.
It remained 2-0 for the majority of the second period until six minutes from time when Dean Hitchock fired in a spectacular long-shot off the bar and a minute later Lewis Pritchard chipped the keeper to make it four.
The impressive win came on the back of a 1-0 victory away at Risborough.
The decisive goal came on the quarter-of-an-hour mark as a long ball caused confusion in the Rangers backline and Adam Hallissey nipped in to poke home.
Kings are now fifth in the league ahead of a home match against Welwyn Garden City tomorrow.
Tring Athletic are through to the second round of the FA Vase after a 3-1 win over Ilford Athletic.
Vinnie Iannone’s poaching skills twice put the visitors ahead with defender Michael Green adding what turned out to be the winning third goal in an exciting cup tie.
Tring have been drawn at home to UCL Division One side Eynesbury Rovers in the next round, which will be played on Saturday, November 16.
Next up for Athletic is a home match against Premier Division basement club Leverstock Green, who were on the wrong end of a 5-0 hammering on Tuesday night against Berkhamsted, who maintained their 100 per cent home record this season.
Connor Calcutt fired home his 16th goal of the season to open the scoring before Ashley Morrissey doubled the lead before half-time.
It was more of the same in the second period as Dale Sears, Jamie Gavin and Towell’s second rounded off the rout.
The victory made it nine goals in two games for Berko, who beat Baldock Town 4-1 away from home on Saturday in the FA Vase.
Gavin scored twice and Frankie Jowle netted his first of the season to make it 3-0 before Baldock pulled one back on the stroke of half-time.
Substitute James Bent came off the bench to add a fourth in the second half.
Berko have been drawn away to Swaffham Town or Hullbridge Sports in the the next round.
