Vicarage Celtic made it through to the last 16 of the Herts Junior Cup after they recorded a 3-1 victory against AC Finchley.

Celtic made a brisk start and went ahead after just six minutes when a neat passing move between Jason McHugh and James Berger put the latter free down the left and his cross was turned in by Jamie Gallagher.

Finchley didn't let the goal affect them and created chances. They were unable to find a way through however thanks to good defending and a goal line clearance by Michael Crowley.

Celtic remained a threat and they doubled their advantage before the break. Tom Deveraux was fouled on the edge of the area and the resultant free kick was dispatched by Ashley Toomey.

The second period started evenly but Celtic made the game safe as Trafford Nolan's run allowed him to get free in the area and he squared for Connor Flanagan who finished well.

With ten minutes remaining, AC Finchley pulled a goal back and they applied pressure that was subsequently dealt with by the Celts defence who saw out the match comfortably.
