Essaid Belkalem now knows who is set to face next summer if he is selected for Algeria’s World Cup finals squad.
The Hornets centre-half, who is currently injured, played the first leg of his country’s play-off when they were beaten 3-2 by Burkina Faso but was not involved in the second leg which Algeria won 1-0 to qualify for the finals on away goals.
Algeria were drawn in Group H for the finals this afternoon and all three of their matches will be in the southern part of Brazil.
First up will be a clash against group seeds Belgium in Belo Horizonte on June 17 before they travel to the most southern of the World Cup venues, Porto Alegre, to take on South Korea on June 22.
The African nation’s final group game is on June 26 against Russia in Curitiba.
