Watford boss Gianfranco Zola wants the Hornets to start climbing the Championship table after away draws

Gianfranco Zola admits at the start of last week he would have taken two points from the consecutive away matches at Burnley and Leeds United and now wants Watford to turn performances into results.

After losing 3-0 at home to Yeovil Town, the Hornets have steadied the ship with two hard-fought draws at Burnley and Leeds.

When asked if he would have taken those results after the Yeovil defeat, Zola said: "Without doubt, that is certainly true.

"Considering the situation yes, considering the moment we are going through they are two great points although I know we will do better than this."

He added: "Considering the types of games we have played and considering the situation we are going through they are not points lost, they are good points."

Three of Watford's next four fixtures are at home - against Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall and QPR - and Zola wants his team to capitalise.

"Now we have some home games so it's a big opportunity for us to come back strongly and climb the table," he said.

"It's been a tough moment for us. The performances against Leeds and Burnley were the types of performance I was looking for from my players in terms of application, character and determination.

"I know that football-wise we can get better and we have got enough to do better than this but it was important to show determination against those sides.

"I've seen that in those two games and I want to see some better results now starting in the next game against Sheffield Wednesday."

Glad to see Nos back but he seems to have figured in 5 of the last 6 goals conceded. Either he's putting himself on the line for everything and Ekstrand and co are missing or he's not fully fit. Either way, improvement needed.

Still think Ekstrand and Angella are our best two.

More class than Nos... but just need to get into the mindset that sometimes they need to launch it! Once they only play the ball when it's safe to do so, we'll start keeping clean sheets. Too many goals conceded of our own making at the moment.

anybody who saw our defending at Leeds may question the claim that
"we are turning the corner"
a big tall cf simply murdered us ,every cross, panic and goal.
I keep saying that Hall must start, the only one with physical prescence
