Watford have been drawn away to Bristol City in the third round of the FA Cup.

The League One side reached round three with a 2-1 victory at non-league Tamworth this afternoon to get Steve Cotterill's reign as City boss off to a winning start after he was appointed as Sean O'Driscoll's successor on Tuesday.

Reacting to the draw, Cotterill told ITV Sport Gianfranco Zola has done a "fantastic job" and it will be a "tough game".

Following their relegation from the Championship last season, the Robins have struggled in the third tier and are currently second from bottom with 15 points from 19 games and have only two league victories to their name.

Despite the two teams contrasting fortunes in 2012/13, Watford did not beat City last season, drawing 2-2 at Vicarage Road before they suffered a 2-0 defeat at Ashton Gate.

The game, which is due to be played on the weekend of January 4 and 5, will be the Hornets' second visit to Bristol for a cup tie this season after they beat Bristol Rovers 3-1 in the first round of the Capital One Cup in August.
