Watford Ladies Under-18s exited the County Cup after suffering a 3-1 defeat against Harvesters Yellows on Sunday.

Chloe Frame scored Watford’s consolation and Sarah Waller was voted player of the match.

The Under-16 Hornets fared better the previous day, beating Bury Rangers Reds 1-0.

An excellent through ball from Megan Warner allowed Zoe Cohen to score an early goal which proved decisive.

Elsewhere in the Under-16s, a solitary strike from Carly Gilbey was not enough to overcome local rivals Garston Ladies Sharks as the Wasps were defeated 3-1 at home. However, Megan Walsh put in a strong performance and was voted player of the match.

In the Under-14s, Watford’s Hornets put in a solid performance to beat Bury Rangers 3-1 away from home.

There were two goals for Danielle Maloney along with a single from Holly Newell.

In the Under-14 Harts’ match, Garston Ladies could only field nine players so Watford sportingly dropped two players as well.

Good sportsmanship was not enough to secure victory for the Harts though, as they had one goal disallowed for offside and were beaten 1-0.

The performances of Aime Sharp and Rosie Trevett were recognised as they shared the Hornets’ player of the match award.

Also in the Under-14s age group, Watford Wasps drew 1-1 with Bedwell Rangers. Watford’s attack failed to convert several chances but Sophia Citro netted her side’s goal from a well-taken corner.

Angel Frost put in excellent performance to be named player of the match.

The Under-12s enjoyed another victory, beating Hampstead 7-0.

Eloise Waring netted a hat-trick and Kelsey Mugford bagged a brace while Charlie Connor and Rubie Smith finished off the scoring for the Hornets.

In Division Two, the Under-12 Harts celebrated a 3-0 away victory over Kings Langley to gain revenge for defeat against their local rivals earlier in the season.

Connie Woodward opened the scoring and Lola Forsyth added Watford’s second before half-time and then Amy Ryan increased her team’s lead in the second half.

Grace Harrington put in a particularly strong performance to earn the player of the match award. The Harts are now unbeaten in eight matches.

The Under-11s didn’t fare as well as their older counterparts as they suffered a 4-0 defeat to Garston Ladies.

Goalkeeper Bailey Hewitt put in an excellent performance, saving a host of accurate shots from Garston while Jorja Everist shone in defence to take the player of the match award.

Watford Under-10s maintained their excellent run of form against the Hitchin Belles.

Charlotte Barton and Hannah Perkins both netted for Watford and Carys Harvey was unlucky not to feature on the scoresheet too.

Goalkeeper Nicole Oliver came off her line to save a number of Hitchin shots and walked away with the player of the match trophy.
