The menacing start to the season that had seen the Hornets win 12 and draw three of their first 15 league games was conclusively banished to memory as a Watford side utterly devoid of confidence went down 2-1 to Huddersfield Town at Vicarage Road.
A lamentable Huddersfield side, destined to be relegated at the end of the season, gave Watford plenty of chances including a bizarre own goal, but Delroy Facey's poorly defended goal sealed the win and confirmed a miserable Christmas for Watford fans.
