Garston Ladies continued their fine run of form with a 3-0 win against Luton Reserves.

Vikki Duffy scored first and Gemma Curtis doubled Garston’s advantage with a powerful strike. Duffy then claimed her second and Garston’s third after the break to ensure that the Purples head into Christmas sitting in the top half of the league.

There was also a win for Garston’s other senior side as 96FC beat Evergreen Eagles 2-1. Garston started on the front foot and took an early lead when Steph Plested scored but Evergreen equalised before the break. Garston’s dominance continued in the second period and eventually paid off when Steph Allen notched the winner.

The Under-16 Mets lost for the first time in the league this season, going down 6-1 to Bishops Stortford. The Mets found themselves 5-0 down at half-time but despite a much more even second half, they were unable to recover and a single goal from Holly Jury was their only reward.

Garston’s two other Under-16 teams also ended up on the losing side. The Diamonds did well to concede just five goals to high-flyers Bury Rangers Reds, thanks largely to a player-of-the match performance from debutant keeper Lizzie Jarman.

The Sharks meanwhile, lost 5-3 to Enfield Town. Two first-half goals from Krystal Clarke seemed to have set the Sharks up for a comfortable win but Enfield hit back after the break, scoring five times, before Clarke completed her hat-trick late on.

Garston Ladies’ Under-14s also found the going tough against Watford Ladies Hornets. The girls battled hard but went down to a 5-0 defeat.

The Under-13s took on Hitchin Belles and came away with all three points after a comfortable 5-0 win. Amy Lafayette got Garston’s first and the girls were 3-0 up by the break thanks to goals from Tegan Davis and Holly Chappell. Second-half goals from Chappell and Yasmin Sabri completed the scoring.

The Under-12 Mets progressed to the semi-finals of the County Cup after a convincing 6-1 over Bedwell Rangers. An Abbie Lafayette hat-trick and goals from Abby Reith, Raaya Thanki and Jasmine Phillips helped the Mets maintain their 100 per cent record this season.

There was also a win for the Under-11 Mets. Sarah O’Brien opened the scoring with a stunning long-distance strike – her first goal after more than two years with the club – and Nicole Zermani soon made it 2-0.

Denham fought back to level the scores by the interval but Garston took control of the game as Paige Andrews grabbed a brace. Denham then notched a late consolation, leaving the Mets with a 4-3 win.

Garston Ladies Under-11 Diamonds lost 2-1 to unbeaten Bedwell Rangers.

Rangers scored first early on but Yasmin-Rose Sheth brought the scores level before Bedwell grabbed a late winner.

There were plenty of goals for Garston’s younger teams.

Jessie Dyson scored six times and Josie Bennett and Annie Zermani also found the net as the Under-9 Mets went goal crazy.

Leah Shellard scored twice for the Under-9 Sharks and Bliss Murray and Arianna Gordon were on target for the Under-10 Mets.
