Tring Athletic sit tenth after an impressive 5-0 victory against bottom-of-the-table London Lions in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division.
It took Tring just six minutes to establish a lead. A defensive mix-up allowed Chris Vardy space and he deftly lobbed the goalkeeper.
The advantage was doubled soon after. Vinnie Iannone collected the ball and his deep cross was met by Martin Skinner, who coolly headed home.
Iannone grabbed the home side’s third of the contest when he held off the challenge of a defender and fired home.
Both teams then had a player sent off but it didn’t affect Tring, who added a fourth as Trevor Gibbs exchanged passes with Matt Myers before finishing well.
Athletic eased off in the second period but they did add a fifth goal when Vardy was fouled and Gibbs converted the spot-kick.
