Beppe Sannino believes Watford's FA Cup third round replay against Bristol City is proof of the Robins quality

Bristol City have Beppe Sannino’s maximum respect ahead of tonight's FA Cup third round replay and the Hornets head coach believes the competition is very important for Watford.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the first tie and the winner of the replay will face a trip to free scoring Manchester City or Blackburn Rovers in the fourth round.

Sannino has emphasised the traditions of the FA Cup make it a “fascinating tournament” and, while he may make changes to the side which was beaten by Reading, he will not take the Robins lightly.

Speaking yesterday, he said: “For me everything is important. Tomorrow’s match is the most important match of the season. After that then the next match is the most important. But The FA Cup is very important for us.”

He continued: “I have maximum respect for them (Bristol City) because the fact we are playing a replay shows they have good quality and they are a good team.”

Its not Man City just yet, bit disrespectful to Blackburn!
A win tonight means we can kick back on Wednesday night and enjoy the rovers/city game on ITV.
Im going along tonight, was hoping to see the new boys when I booked the tickets but guess that wont happen now..
I must admit I question why Sannino sent out three strikers on loan over the last week knowing that we had this replay. Ranegie is apparently ineligible (not quite sure why) and that leaves Deeney as our only actual striker in the whole squad (I do not count Forrest or Fab as strikers) Surely it would have made sense to hang onto one of Ikpeazu or Mensah until after this fixture.
Anyway onwards and upwards, lets have a great game tonight and get ourselves into the next round for what could potentially be a lucrative money-spinner at City.

agree - read that and wondered when Blackburn had played the replay...
Ranegie wasnt registered for the first tie so is ineligible... would like to see Fabbrini, Forestieri and Battochio in an attacking 3

If we win tonight and if Man City win their match, then I m sure that Pellegrini will play a weakened side against us. Still, we need to focus on the here and now and beat Bristol City.

Not sure what Beppe is taking about though as Bristol City can't have much quality if they are where they are? Or have I missed something?

It is worth pointing out that City have had something of a build-up in form since a change of manager. Steve Cotterill was appointed beginning of December, since then we have won three, drawn three (once again yourselves) and lost one. Not exactly setting the division alight but certainly better than what went before (only 2 league wins during whole of August, September, October and November) so certainly an upturn in form.

We had 19 efforts at goal in the Reading game, most in the second half. On another day we would probably have scored a few, we didn't so it was a boring game? At least we went for it second half - yes we lost but it wasn't boring football.

It's the FA Cup and a potential tie at the Etihad (note I wrote potential) must be a greater motivation for Brizzle than Watford as we played them last season.

But if we lose tonight I will get a little lairy on social media for a short time span before calming down and realising it's not the end of the world.

The 1st half was terrible, and most of the shots come from 25 yards from LM because there is nothing to aim at,everyone plays to compact and deep.Without Anya there is no pace in the side.fans get on LM back but is our 2nd top scorer with 5 goals. So do you see where are problem is? The midfield are getting stick but what options do they have but to shoot when there is nothing upfront? We don't have any natural wingers to get crosses in,the midfielders are all too similar.
