Kings Langley Ladies remain bottom of Beds & Herts County Girl's and Womens League Division Two after a 4-1 defeat at Arlesey Town.

Without a game for a month, Kings at times looked rusty although they more than matched their hosts in the first half with Lisa Linsley and Amy Earthrowl having early chances.

The visitors were made to pay for three errors that saw Arlesey score each time.

The second half saw a regrouped and resurgent Kings take the match to the hosts as they put more and more pressure on the keeper and defence.

The Arlesey goal led a charmed life with Mary Hogan, Danielle McMullan, Kim Nield and Nicole Barrett all causing problems. Kings fell further behind with five minutes to go but didn't give up and finally got a goal with Amy Earthrowl steering the ball home from McMullan's pass.

Assistant manager Chris Walker said: "With more performances like this and a rub of the green, Kings will be off the bottom very soon."
