The FA Cup is arguably the most exciting domestic cup competition in the world with its highly thought of reputation reaching every continent on the planet.

A competition where it is possible for a local grassroots football team made up of part timers to potentially make their way through to the big stage.

Although most clubs outside of the Premier League are realistic about their chances of winning the historic competition, the magic of the cup is alive.

Players dream of winning it and fans have the desire to see their team go as far as they can and possibly draw a tie with a top opponent and see their club gain more exposure in the wider footballing world.

Watford got off to a nervous start in their third round match at Bristol City, being held to a 1-1 draw. The replay saw the Hornets dispatch the League 1 side 2-0.

Beppe Sannino was thrilled with the result although he was a little disapointed with the first half performance.

The win has set up a replay of last years third round cup tie against Manchester City.

The Hornets will face the Mancunians after they thrashed Blackburn Rovers 5-0 in their replay.

The prospect of the match is a tasty one. It offers Watford the chance of revenge after City demolished the Hornets 3-0 last year.

City, however, have been prolific at home this season and Watford’s chances of upsetting the former Premier League title winners look slim at best.

Still as the magic of the FA Cup has proved time and time again, never write off a team as anything can happen and that has to be one of the reasons the competition is so favourably looked upon by fans across the world.
