The Hornets have so far sold more than 2,500 tickets for Saturday's trip to Manchester City's Etihad Stadium.

Watford took 6,000 supporters to City's ground when the teams met in the FA Cup last season but the Golden Boys always looked unlikely to match that feat for this year's fourth round tie.

At present, Watford's season ticket holders and those who have purchased tickets during the 2013/14 campaign can buy tickets for Saturday's match.

Watford say 'general sale' will start at 9am tomorrow but fans need an eligible Fan ID. A Fan ID can be obtained online at watfordfctickets.co.uk.

Tickets are £15 for adults, £10 for concessions (over-65s and 16-21 year olds) and £5 for under-16s.

Any predictions for Saturday folks? In my realistic state-of-mind, I honestly think we will go down 6-0. This is not me being pessimistic or trying to grab attention, I really do think we are going to get mauled.

Thoughts?

lets be positive. its only 11v11 until one of ours gets sent off.

Sannino will do his homework and pack the defence - yawn.

i say lets really go for it, give old 'twinkle toes' fabbrini free reign, and play FF as well. just hope it dont turn into the Bambi -on-ice show....

the worlds expecting a thrashing, so who cares if we do get it. Man C are winning all these games cos the other teams are quaking when they get there. They are not immortal.

look what happened when Munich played them...

Bayern we aint I know, but believe me funnier things have happened.

They beat Palace 1-0 ?? They beat Hull 2-0 , Of course on their day they could get hatfulls but i'm sure the management team will want to go there and come away with heads held high. City will play some reserve players too if they score a few to win the game.

Given your negativity towards Watford's chances, the score is quite apt.

I will be there enjoying the occasion and supporting my team, we have some talented players and will start with the same number of players as Man City.
FA Cup ties can spring surprises where the 'big' side are not up for it on the day, and the underdogs rise to the challenge and get some luck.

Hope and optimism cost you nothing!

This was a dreadful draw. Perfect for last year when we wanted a day in the sun and then no further distraction for our promotion push. This year a nice little cup run would have been a welcome distraction from a league campaign that looks to be going nowhere given we've still lost more than we've won.

Hi all, City fan come in peace. It was great to see so many Watford fans there last year, fingers crossed you can get somewhere near that this time. I wouldn't worry too much about losing by a cricket score, we are bound to rest plenty of players as we have Spurs away three days later so you never know. And whilst going forward we are at times incredible, we almost always give opponents a sniff at the other end. You should never give up hope.

There's a young striker in the northern premier who's scoring for fun this season. Its only mid Jan and he's already scored 32 goals so far this season. His name .....Liam Henderson.
Seriously, it's good to see he's finally got his confidence back, remembered where the goal is, and started enjoying himself on a football pitch again.

Hi Mr Waffler. ..thanks for the encouragement. Im guessing about 3500 will be heading your way from Hertfordshire. Last season's 6000 I think was on a wave of optimism and hope as we were playing with an exciting freedom which some talented individuals capable of beating most on their day. .The new Sannino regime however is a different animal. Most realistic WFC fans I think expect the worse next week (but won't admit it). The new gaffer has installed discipline and workrate at the cost of flair and attacking football. The jury's most definitely out. There's no doubt Beppe needed to sort out our shambolic defending and he appears to have done just that but I feel we now need to find a happy medium between staying tight at the back and scoring goals. I fully expect Watford to set up in an extremely defensive formation and try to snatch a 0-0. Many complained that Zola never had a Plan B, it will be interesting to see if Sannino can find a way to attack City if we go a couple down by halftime.

This is very much a one off game against an extraordinary side, so nothing to lose. I would be bold and play a one off formation of 4-3-2-1. Now for the bit where you all doubtless laugh. IF fit. I would have Anya up front with Fab and Fessi behind, Abdi and two ball winning midfielders in the middle , with LLoyd,Fitz, Angella or Eki and Pudil at the back. No point in having a big bloke up front against this lot but play on the floor with the forward most three looking to run channels on to slide rule passes. Deeney on for one of front three if level (or up! ) with 15 minutes to go to hold/slow game down.
Just a thought but stands as good a chance as anything else.
Stands back and awaits ridicule

Difficult one because the alternative approach would be that the occasional set piece would be our best chance of getting the ball anywhere near their goal and scoring, so playing at least one big guy up front might be worthwhile. Agree Anya's pace on the break would be a useful outlet.

I'm still recovering from the Bournemouth game. Heroic performances from Aluminia and the defence who put themselves on the line time and time again. If the support at City is anything like it was at Bournemouth then it's definitely worth the trip up there. Yes there was no need for the silly flare and it was sad to see a few of the guys getting very gobby with the stewards and the police but the general vocal support was great and made me proud to be a Horn.

If your going to city please put the flask and blanket away and come prepared to sing your hearts out for the lads. Hope I'm standing somewhere near the rest of the 1881 crew or anyone else who is up for a singalong.

As for the game well we have nothing to lose. No one is giving us a prayer so we might aswell go in all guns blazing and play Fabbrini, Fezzi and Troy and go on the attack. If we get well beat but play with pride, passion and determination I can live with that particularly if we can get a goal or two. They said City were going to smash Wigan in the final and we all know what happened there. We all need to go up there believing the impossible can happen and you never know it just might.

Must admit the thought of playing Anya up top on his own did cross my mind on Saturday given that's what we resorted to. Would confuse the hell out Lescott and Kompany to have him scampering around.

Take your point Mickey Quinn. My idea would involve Angella plus one other from Fitz or Eki going up for set pieces only, leaving three on the half way line to cover a break. Happy to play it that way cos if City do break I doubt it will be route one/over the top so don't need big guys necessarily for that purpose. Obviously our big guys would be back for their set pieces, that goes without saying. And when we defend corners, leave Anya up on the half way line so they will then drop two. For his size, don't thing Troy is that good in the air anyway. As I say, just a thought - and doubt City would n't be expecting it. Mind you, couldn't see them worrying too much about us even if we had 12 on the pitch.

Premier League teams have conceded tons against Man City this season - even Arsenal let in 6 and Utd 4 so if we get a tonking it's no shame!

A shot or two on target would be great, a goal would be amazing but I really hope GS get's it through to the players to enjoy it and play with no pressure because there really isn't any. And play Anya from the off with license to run at them like a possessed hyena!

On the ticket front it's now 3,000 sold. Four days of general sales starting today so I think the whole 5,000 will be taken (the extra 1,000 Upper Tier are now back with City).

For those who go PLEASE don't sing "United" at the City fans as it's not funny or clever, just embarrassing....

Well said Kismet although to be honest if you sing united at us at the moment we would probably find it funny unlike in the past . As a City fan I had a genuine near death experience last night, I nearly died laughing during that penalty shoot out. Safe journey up, the weather looks like it is going to be awful and I'm sure it will be a friendly atmosphere as it was last season and FWIW I genuinely think you will score.
