The FA has transferred the red card and one-match suspension handed to Watford defender Gabriele Angella at Bournemouth on Saturday to Fitz Hall.
Angella was sent off after the officials thought the Italian, rather than Hall, had pulled back the shirt of Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban.
The Hornets challenged the decision and today the FA upheld their appeal on the basis of mistaken identity.
Watford also lodged a second appeal against Hall's ban but the club was unsuccessful.
Hall will now miss the Hornets' FA Cup fourth round trip to Manchester City on Saturday.
