Watford are trying to sign Hungarian international Daniel Tozser on loan.

Tozser is a 28-year-old defensive midfielder who currently plays for Italian side Genoa.

He hasn't made a single appearance for Genoa this campaign, after making 22 outings during his first season with the club.

One of Genoa's local newspapers, Il Secolo XIX, reported that the player has already agreed to join Watford on loan.

Tozser started his career at Debrecen and joined Galatasaray in his teens but was unable to break into the team at the Turkish club.

He returned to his native Hungary with Ferencváros and scored four goals in 60 appearances during his two-year stay at the Budapest club.

AEK Athens signed the player in 2006, where he tasted Champions League football for the first time. He made 56 outings and scored three goals during two years at the club.

In 2008 Belgian side Genk reportedly paid around €1.5m to sign the defensive midfielder, who can also play on the left side.

During his four-year stay at the club, he made 159 appearances and scored 22 goals, where he again featured in the Champions League.

Tozser, who was vice-captain at Genk, is fluent in English, as he showed during appearances on Sky TV's Soccer AM in 2011.

Genoa beat a few Italian clubs to sign Tozser in 2012 but he has struggled to hold down a regular place and has only been an unused sub on five occasions this season.

The player has made 20 appearances for Hungary but his last came in 2011.

Free kick specialist. Put some more hours practise in Lewis, you've got Almen breathing down your neck and maybe this guy too.

Agreed. A pacy striker should be the focus after this
... but after going to the City game, I think that the key to us scoring more goals is simply having more bodies up front. Vydra or no Vydra, we looked extremely dangerous on the counter on Saturday because Deeney, Fessi and Anya were always offering themselves high up the pitch.
As soon as he took Fessi off for Cassetti, we invited even more pressure on ourselves beacuse there was only Deeney up and he was shattered!
Definitely up for a repeat of the 3-4-2-1... I liked it a lot.

He can't win though. If he's rubbish then he's a tosser and if he's good, then he's a complete tosser.

Sounds on paper like a good prospect but, somew, we need to get a quality striker from somewhere. It's such a shame we didn't get Wells.

Oh well.

Let's chop down the Forest tomorrow night

Time is running out!

Only two days of the window left!

Perhaps this guy will be our last throw of the dice because he is "hungary" for a late promotion push!
