AUDIO: Beppe Sannino on what Fernando Forestieri and Troy Deeney need to understand

Watford head coach Beppe Sannino claims that if Troy Deeney and Fernando Forestieri can "understand the next game should be their best performance" then they could go on to play for a big club.

Yesterday's 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion saw Forestieri produce one of his best displays since he joined the Hornets 18 months ago.

However, Sannino was keen to stress the need for Forestieri to perform over an extended period of time.

"I don’t know if it was his (Forestieri's) best performance [since he joined the club] but I would like it if he could keep the consistency so he can repeat this performance in the future," Sannino said.

"You know him better than me because you were here last season."

Sannino added: "But it is not only Forestieri who played very well today, I would like to name Troy (Deeney) as well.

"If they (Forestieri and Deeney) can understand that the next game should be their best performance then they could move a step forward and arrive [at a point] where they could play for a big team."

Sannino also singled out Cristian Battocchio for particular praise. His comments can be heard above and will be uploaded in written form later today.

Postives signs yesterday. Looks like Beppe is learning quickly. There is evidence of a 'spine' forming in the team. Long overdue return of Hall. Todzer looks promising and appears to be a natural leader - lots of talking and organising. The substitutions were not defensive ala Forest/Man City and looks like the team is trying to press higher up the pitch - though not enough for my liking.

Massive test on Saturday against a team on a roll and wanting more payback for last season....

Toszer and Hall playing regularly looks to be all important they both made players around them look for more composed than the display second half on Thursday. We have said all season that we dont have enough leaders on the pitch - well these two are calm authoritative and organise well.

If they can repeat the performance level of yesterday against Leicester then we have a chance to imrpove on the 3-0 early season result - but it will be tough no matter what.

I'd like Saninno to try out this Ranegie playing alongside Deeney. I'm not completely convinced about Deeney and Fessi together. It works when they get within 10 yards of each other but that rarely happens. I see Fessi more as a third striker playing just behind the front two in a 4-3-3 formation.

What ever language he used it was good debut. That was an excellent victory on Sunday when you consider just how many changes we made. Fitz always made the differance with our defence i only hope we stick with same 3 each game. With Tommy getting a few run outs as sub.
I dont think any watford supporter was suprised to see Fernando play as he did it was clear he was class act from day one.

No no no no no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"If they (Forestieri and Deeney) can understand that the next game should be their best performance then they could move a step forward and arrive where they could play for a big team."

That is not what Sanino said!!!!!

I promise he did not say this!!!!

This is what I mean about this paper. It is listening to the translator who is on the spot and getting muddled up!!!!

He said if they keep playing as though it is their best performance then they will achieve big things for the team and the club!!!!!

That is a big difference! Why would Beppe say if they improve they can go to a big club!!!!

Sort it out Watford observer and get someone to translate the correct translation!!!

This is getting stupid. As I am Italian speaking and listen to the audios, most of what is getting said is either getting misunderstood or incorrect .

If this carries on, then fans will get the wrong idea about the manager and his thoughts!

Translator got it wrong. He said if they feel they had a good performance, then next game they should try to improve on that. If they keep playing like that then they can achieve big things for the team and club.

Not go onto a big club.!!!!! I promise you all that is what he said.

Why would a manager say go to a big club. Its crazy and bad reporting!.

I have to admit I found his statements confusing. Perhaps the WO could call upon Dino's services otherwise the fans will get an incorrect view of Beppe

Sorry, I meant interpreter. Just bit late when I wrote that and a bit frustrating to read things that were not said.

This is a very important point! paper needs to change report & headline urgently. well done Dino, as I was a bit concerned at the quote.
Although it does highlight the need for Sanninio to learn English ASAP.
