Watford head coach Beppe Sannino claims that if Troy Deeney and Fernando Forestieri can "understand the next game should be their best performance" then they could go on to play for a big club.

Yesterday's 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion saw Forestieri produce one of his best displays since he joined the Hornets 18 months ago.

However, Sannino was keen to stress the need for Forestieri to perform over an extended period of time.

"I don’t know if it was his (Forestieri's) best performance [since he joined the club] but I would like it if he could keep the consistency so he can repeat this performance in the future," Sannino said.

"You know him better than me because you were here last season."

Sannino added: "But it is not only Forestieri who played very well today, I would like to name Troy (Deeney) as well.

"If they (Forestieri and Deeney) can understand that the next game should be their best performance then they could move a step forward and arrive [at a point] where they could play for a big team."

Sannino also singled out Cristian Battocchio for particular praise. His comments can be heard above and will be uploaded in written form later today.
