There was double success for Rickmansworth School pupil Chloe McCarthy who clinched two gold medals at the East of England Indoor Athletic Championships.
The 15-year-old, who is a member of St Albans Athletics Club, took top spot in the Under-17 women’s 200m and 300m.
She produced impressive runs in both events and set her personal best indoor times of 25.24 in the 200m and 41.04 in the 300m. Her time in the 200m was also a new championship record.
McCarthy will next be in action at the National Indoor Championships at Sheffield in March and she is also hoping to represent Hertfordshire at the English Schools competition in July.
