Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka believes Watford deserved to win on Saturday and suggested some of his players "think they are better than they are".

Karanka was visibly disappointed after the 1-0 loss at Vicarage Road and he questioned the attitude of some of his team.

"Watford deserved to win because we made mistakes. We had the game under control in the first 30 minutes but we didn't have clear chances to score and if you don't score goals it's difficult to win," Karaka said.

"We need to sit down together because maybe some players think they are better than they are.

"Maybe that's a problem we have now - we need to be more humble and to play like we played one month ago because today was a terrible game."
