Radlett racer Alex Jones is revving up for another season of Formula Vee and the talented driver is determined to improve on the 20 points he collected from the Championship in 2013.

Jones, who finished 11th at Pembrey and 23rd at Silverstone last year, is hoping a new car, the Storm, will help him push further up the grid.

The ambitious racer is switching from the AHS Challenger to the Storm, which finished in 12th place in the Championship last season and is one of the newer cars on the circuit.

Last term was Jones’ maiden season in racing cars and reflecting on his performance he said: “Last season was a really good base to start from.

“Last season, my lap times were consistently close together.”

Jones is looking to keep his consistent lap times but knows there are still improvements to be made.

“The most important thing to improve on is my own performance,” he said.

“If the gear changes are quicker, it can save around a second of lap time.”

Jones is on the lookout for sponsors to help him compete in a full season. He hopes to test in other machinery and hopes to experience a BARC Prototype Formula Renault car. For more information visit www.alexanderjones-motorsport.co.uk.
