Rifle Volunteer blasted their way into the semi-finals of the County Cup after beating fellow WSFL team Old Fullerians 5-0.

There were two goals apiece from Hugh Trayte and Mark Lomas with Kevin West adding the other.

Rickmansworth Athletic beat Sun Postal United 3-1 in Division Four to maintain a four-point lead over Met Police at the top but Police have two games in hand.

Ricky's goals came from Nicky Thomas, Jamie Exley and Michael Craggs with Anumal Hussein scoring a consolation for Sun.

Met Police resisted a challenge from West Herts Reserves to win a thrilling game 3-2.

The Stags fell behind when a speculative shot was misjudged by their keeper but Chris Blundan pulled the scores level with an excellent 25-yard free-kick.

West Herts took the lead on 30 minutes when Rob Boarder headed home from a left wing cross. Early in the second half, central midfielder Matt Jones was withdrawn through injury and his departure affected the tide of play which swung in Met Police favour.

West Herts’ failure to clear a corner resulted in an equaliser for the home team who then took advantage of some poor defending to edge ahead 3-2.

West Herts pressed in the latter stages but were unable to find an equaliser.

Met’s scorers were Costas Harris, Hassan Zeizale and Richard Taylor.
