Hannah Kitchen continued her preparation for the forthcoming triathlon season with a 36th place finish at the English National Cross Country Championships.

She was competing in the senior women’s race and crossed the line in 30.59. That was enough to seal her top 50 position out of 708 finishers.

Also in action at the event was Tom Rayner who continues to improve after returning from injury. He clinched 54th in the Under-15 boy’s race while Chloe Dearman was 113th in the Under-17 women’s event.

All three athletes have been selected to run for Hertfordshire in the Inter Counties race in two weeks time in Birmingham.

The event also incorporates the UK World Trials and the final of the British Athletics Cross Challenge.

It’s been a busy start to 2014 for Kitchen who finished 18th at the South of England Cross Country Championships in 33.55 and she then clocked a personal best of 36.48 for sixth place in the women’s race at the Chichester 10k.
