Watford were thumped 5-1 at Newport County, one of several heavy away defeats in a season that nonetheless saw the Hornets finish fourth in the third division.
The visitors' consolation was a Cliff Holton penalty, the fourth such conversion in five games during which Watford had otherwise failed to score.
The run was broken the following Saturday when Watford exacted revenge on Newport, winning 4-1 at Vicarage Road.
