SALE Sharks will be launching their past players’ association at the Amlin Cup Quarter Final game against Northampton Saints on April 3 at the AJ Bell Stadium, kick off 8pm.
Invited to the game are members of the squad from 2001-2002 who finished runners up in the Zurich Premiership and lifted the Parker Pen Shield, now known as the Amlin Challenge Cup.
Confirmed so far are Jason Robinson, Mel Deane, Stuart Turner, Richard Wilks, Andy Titterrell, Anthony Elliott, Vaughan Going, Dean Schofield, Barry Stewart, Jos Baxendell, Dan Harris and Steve Davidson.
Other members of that successful squad of players who played under Jim Mallinder and Steve Diamond have been invited and more may attend, depending on personal commitments.
Chairman Gordon McKie said: “I believe a Past Players Association is an important part of any club's heritage and we look forward to seeing a number of our past players on the evening.
"Hopefully this will be the first of many events we can host with our Past Players and it will be a great opportunity for our fans to meet the heroes of the club again.”
