Just three Garston Ladies games survived the weather at the weekend as the rain continued to play havoc with the club’s fixture list.

The Under-12 Diamonds lost 4-2 to First Division side Denham United in the League Shield on Saturday.

The Garston girls put on their perhaps their best performance of the season, matching their opponents in every aspect of the game.

Denham opened the scoring before Georgia McGurk levelled with her first ever goal for Garston.

The second half followed a similar pattern as Denham retook the lead, scoring twice before Sofia Fernandez pulled one back for the Diamonds but the home side then secured a 4-2 win with a late goal.

Garston’s Under-11 Diamonds also travelled to Denham for a League Cup quarter-final tie against Denham’s Wildcats which they lost 3-0. Despite a battling-performance, the girls were unable to make the most of the chances that came their way.

Keira Hemington and Remi Parmar were the goalscorers as the Under-9 Sharks took on Berkhamsted Raiders on Saturday.

The Player of the Match award went to Hemington for her commitment and attitude.
