Romeo Romaeo claimed his third professional win on Saturday as the young boxer defeated Chuck Jones on points at Harrow Leisure Centre.

The 18-year-old super featherweight, who won Welsh and British junior honours in his 76-bout amateur career, was hoping to stop Jones during the contest.

But the 23-year-old proved a stubborn opponent for Romeao, who lives in Oxhey Village with his promoter Mark Prior.

However, Romeo did enough to secure the victory on points and he is scheduled to fight on two further occasions this month.

He will face a yet unnamed opponent at the Newport Centre in Wales on March 14 before taking on Lance Sheehan at York Hall on March 22.

Romeao was born in Bristol and grew up in Cardiff before moving to Watford. He secured a knock-out win on his professional debut in November but was taken to points by Krzysztof Rogowski a month later.
