Fernando Forestieri and Lewis McGugan have returned to training and could be in contention for Watford against Doncaster Rovers

Fernando Forestieri and Lewis McGugan both returned to training this week and could be in contention for Tuesday night’s Championship game at Doncaster Rovers.

Forestieri has missed Watford’s last three matches with a hamstring strain while McGugan last played on January 18 after suffering a thigh injury.

The Hornets pair will both have their fitness assessed ahead of the game at Keepmoat Stadium.

Two players who could be ruled out however are Arsenal loanee Chu-Young Park, who picked up a thigh injury while in action for South Korea on Wednesday night, and Samba Diakite who twisted his knee in training.

Diakite has been absent for the last three matches while he served a suspension for a red card he received against Middlesbrough last month.

Watford have still not given an update on the fitness of Almen Abdi despite the club claiming the midfielder’s situation would be clarified in early February.

The midfielder has not started a match since August due to an ongoing foot problem.

Fitz Hall is also expected to miss Tuesday’s match with an Achilles injury.

Should be interesting to see who wins the battle of wills between Toz & Lewis when it comes to set plays.. Free-kicks & corners...

This is surely the end of Hall's career. So predictable and such a shame. When fit, one of the best cb's in the champ. Really don't think we can give him another contract though. It's like putting money down the can.

Personally I would seriously consider playing Fessy behind the two strikers supported by Toszer and Murray.
He virtually plays as an advanced midfielder but gets around the pitch.

Great news, now time for a decent run of results to put pressure on Wigan and Reading. Fessi and Lewis look well chuffed to be back.

On another matter, why can't we post comments on the Russo's v Bassini High Court action article in the main news section of the WO ?
Frank Smith's article in the paper itself on Friday should make good reading, hopefully.
Let's just hope the club comes out of it all with no blame or financial loss - the Russo's and Bassini are all shady characters in my opinion, they all deserve each other.

Like with any other court case, subjudice laws apply. Media can only report on what happens in the court room or what is already in the public domain. By allowing anyone to add comments could get the paper in trouble.

getting really worried about Abdi....assuming no news in this instance is bad news! He is obviously out for the season but keeping everything crossed he can get a full pre season in and be back for next season. If we keep Toszer then we would have an awesome base to build our team around for next season.

Excellent to have them coming back, Fessi was a BIG miss for the away games especially; furstrating at times but a real handful when he's on song.

Likewise McGugan. Yes, I know he is lazy, slow and dead ball has gone to pieces (hoping Toszer keeps that duty) but on the flip side he is creative and attack minded so a good option to have.

I REALLY hope Watford go for it these next few games; I'd rather we lose 3-2 whilst going for a win away from home then another dour 0-0.
