Watford's on-loan youngster Alex Jakubiak enjoyed a dream debut for Braintree Town last night after he came off the bench to score a stunning goal in a 3-0 win over Wrexham.

The second-year Academy scholar joined Braintree this week until April 13 and was thrust into Skrill Premier action after 84 minutes of the game.

The Hornets striker didn't take long to make his mark as he picked up the ball, cut inside from the left and found the net with a bending long-range effort.

Jakubiak joins fellow Watford youth product Bernard Mensah at Braintree. Mensah claimed an assist in last night's match, teeing up Dan Holman for the team's second goal before being taken off with 13 minutes left.

Braintree forward Ryan Peters told the club's website after the match: "Jakubiak has come in and added another dimension and got a goal on his debut, so it's going well at the moment."
