Beppe Sannino refused to discuss Watford's play-off chances after his side slipped ten points below the top six last night.

The Hornets' 2-1 defeat to Doncaster Rovers and Reading's 4-2 victory over Leeds United saw the Royals, who occupy the fourth play-off spot, move ten points clear of 11th-placed Watford, who have Wigan Athletic are in eighth position and three points below the play-offs but have three games in hand on Reading, so they could increase the gap for the Hornets even further.

Sannino said: "I never talked about the play-offs in the past. I always said to see it game-by-game.

"The Championship is an unpredictable league and today the odds were not against us [but Doncaster won].

"It is a tough league and the bigger disappointment for me was in the last minute of the game where we could have held on for the result and got a point and then you would have said we did a very good game, in the circumstances that we had.

"I think I am a man of sport so I also want to compliment the opposition because they played well.

"We have to forget this evening very quickly and look to the next game."
