Garston Ladies (96) reached doubles figures for the second game in a row as they hammered Leighton Vixens 12-0 on Sunday.

The Purples were in control from start to finish and the result was never in doubt.

Daisy Rendle added four to her season’s tally, Chloe Hazell and Ella Cowderoy grabbed a brace apiece and Dani Freeman, Steph Allen, Paige Cook-Kenny and Hannah Attwood, with her first Garston goal, also got in on the act.

The Under-16 Mets also bagged a dozen, beating St Joseph’s 12-1 at Bushey Sports Club on Saturday.

No fewer than seven players got their names on the scoresheet as Natalie Powell led the way with four, Olivia Thomson added a hat-trick and further goals from Rachel Rabin, Lauren McKenzie, Lauren Berryman, Clarisse Patel and a rare Megan Liley strike completed the scoring.

The Under-16 Diamonds were involved in a much tighter affair which they lost 3-2 against Bedwell Rangers.

After going 2-0 down at half-time, Hollie Chambers gave the Diamonds hope soon after the restart but Bedwell immediately restored their two-goal advantage. Although Ciara Mackintosh scored a second for Garston, it wasn’t enough.

Garston’s Under-16 Sharks went down to a single Barnet Azzurri goal after a disappointing performance while the Under-14s lost by the same score to local rivals Watford Ladies Wasps. The Wasps’ goal came with just 15 seconds left on the clock.

The Under-13s lost 2-1 despite taking the lead at King George. Yasmin Sabri’s early strike looked like it would be the first of many for Garston but their opponents fought back after the break and turned the game around with two quick goals.

A third successive County Cup final awaits Garston Ladies Under-12 Mets after a hard-fought 2-1 semi-final win over St Albans City.

After conceding an early goal, Abbie Lafayette brought the scores level with a neat finish before Mia Ford grabbed the winner to set up a clash with Watford Ladies Hornets at the County Ground in May.

The Under-11 Mets picked up four valuable points from their double-header against Ruislip Rangers.

The first game finished in a 1-1 draw after Ruislip cancelled out Nicole Zermani’s goal but the Mets stepped it up in the second game, winning 2-0 thanks to Sarah O’Brien’s audacious lob from inside her own half and Zermani’s second of the day.

The Under-11 Diamonds were in celebratory mood on the journey back from Berkhamsted Raiders after securing a 6-0 win.

A Georgia Rosenberg hat-trick, Callie Jenman’s first two goals for the club and a cheeky back heel from Amber-Rose Levene were enough to give the Diamonds a convincing victory.

Also celebrating an away win were the Under-10 Mets who came back from Watford with a 4-1 victory.

Watford opened the scoring but it was 1-1 at half-time following Emma Green’s left-foot drive before Aiyana Owoo, Bliss Murray and Green’s second put the game beyond Watford.

The Under-10 Diamonds meanwhile went down 4-0 at the hands of Borehamwood 2000.

The club’s younger teams were in action at the Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League Festival in Ware on Saturday. Eighteen girls represented Garston Ladies in three squads.

Shannon Wells, Jamie Levene, Tamara Teper, Sophie Coyle, Jessica Spillman and Rebekah King were all pulling on the purple shirt for the first time. Jessie Dyson scored all five goals for the Under-9 Mets.

Jessica Spillman (3), Annie Zermani and Anna Berry netted for the Under-9 Diamonds while Keira Hemington scored twice for the Under 9-Sharks.

Garston Ladies are hosting a Pamper Evening on April 5 at Chiswell Green Community Centre in St Albans to raise money for the club’s training kit.

The event will feature the first ever Garston Bake Off as well as a wide range of treatments and therapies.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets are priced at £5 for adults in advance and £6 on the night while Under-12s can get in for £2.
