Kings Langley Under-18s were crowned Southern Counties Floodlight League Olympian Division champions after claiming a 4-2 win against Leverstock Green.

The game was the division’s only outstanding fixture after the match was postponed on numerous occasions.

However, the contest finally took place on Thursday and Kings knew a draw would snatch the title from Colney Heath.

There were no thoughts of just sitting back from Langley and they raced into a 3-0 lead at the interval as Matt Bateman scored a brace and Kane Axten also found the net.

Harry Slade then added a fourth goal in the second period and it seemed the Kings would coast home to victory.

But Levy Green battled back and netted twice in quick succession. Justin Stevens’ side stood firm though, to seal the title.
