Referee Will Pare will travel to the USA to represent the FA at the 2014 Dallas Cup Youth Football Tournament.

The 26-year-old, from Watford, has been selected for the competition which begins on Easter Sunday and sees Tigres (Mexico), Eintracht Frankfurt, Fulham and Boca Juniors all in action.

The Football Association identified eight candidates who are chosen from each of the Regional Referee Development Groups.

Pare, who has recently returned from St George’s Park, the FA's Centre of Excellence, said: “Being at St George’s Park was a great experience and to represent the FA at Dallas is a great honour.

“I was surprised but delighted, although I thought the selection process went well there were several other very good candidates who I felt might get the nod ahead of me.

"I’m now looking forward to the tournament and gaining some valuable international experience that will stand me in good stead as my career progresses.”

Phil Sharp, Hertfordshire County FA Referee Development Officer added: “To be one of only eight referees selected by the FA is a great achievement for Will, who has been a referee for 11 years and has been part of the County Referee Development Programme.

“His selection is a reflection of the hard work and commitment he has shown in the support of local football.”
