Parmiter's School's Year Seven rugby team have been crowned Hertfordshire champions at the County Finals after beating St Michaels in St Albans.

The Watford school earned their place in the County Trophy Finals after winning the Watford & District Rugby Festival in January and have been unbeaten all season.

Their first game resulted in an impressive 21-0 win against Birchwood School, before qualifying for the knockout stages of the tournament.

Parmiter's played Hockerill School in the semi-final. Hockerill had been unbeaten in their group but were second best in a 28-0 loss to Parmiter’s. The school will be buoyed by not conceding a try against such strong opposition.

Parmiter's faced fellow Garston school St Michaels in the final. An early try for Parmiter's inspired the team to keep the pressure on.

With strong passing and constant tackling the team consolidated their lead with a further try in the second half to ensure they would be collecting the trophy.
