POLICE are calling for witnesses after a woman was assaulted on board a train between Manchester Piccadilly and Bolton train stations.
The incident happened between 12.15am and 12.25am on February 22 as a group of people made their way home from a night out in Manchester.
During the journey a woman, who was in the company of two other people, received a head injury which left her with bruising and concussion.
Several passengers came to her aid and the initial aggressor was forcibly restrained, suffering injuries to his ear and face.
DC Gray, investigating for the British Transport Police, said: “We have spoken to a number of people so far, but the carriage was extremely busy – several people had been to a Rudimental concert in Manchester that evening – and I am convinced that there are witnesses we have yet to speak to.”
Anyone with information should call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log NWA/B6 of 28/3/14.
