Watford’s 4-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday was a good one for head coach Beppe Sannino. Not only because his side ended their 14-match winless away run but also because Almen Abdi finished the game smiling.

Abdi has an ongoing foot injury which meant that prior to yesterday he had not featured since January 30 and had not started a game since August 31.

The club’s current Watford Observer Player of the Year came on as a 70th-minute substitute at Hillsborough.

And speaking in English after the game, Sannino said: “Almen was a very good player last season and we will need Almen in the future. Today is a big and nice day for me because Almen finished the game in condition.”

“I am happy for him because he finished the match outside and smiling,” Sannino added.
