Vote for Watford's man-of-the-match against Millwall

Watford Observer: Lewis McGugan celebrates his goal. Picture: Action Images Lewis McGugan celebrates his goal. Picture: Action Images

Watford looked like making it back-to-back away wins to boost their play-off chances at Millwall yesterday but ultimately had to settle for a hugely frustrating 2-2 draw after conceding another late goal, but who was your Hornets' man-of-the-match at the Den?

Some fans will believe Manuel Almunia shouldn't even be in contention after his costly late error but prior to that he made two top-class saves to keep Millwall from scoring a second and also had a strong game.

Gabriele Angella and Joel Ekstrand coped well with the considerable physical presence of Millwall striker Stefan Maierhoffer on what was a generally good day for the Hornets' backline, while Lewis McGugan netted and was arguably the most threatening of the visitors players during their good spells in the first half.

These are our selections but if you believe someone else should win, tell us by voting below.

How is Tommie Hoban not on the shortlist?

And even more concerning how is McGugan on it and has also got votes? im assuming that's from people that weren't there and heard he scored?

He is so greedy and we had two chances on the counter attack with him on the ball 3 against 2, just got to lay in Deeney or Forestieri and its game over...but he takes on the defender loses the ball and the chance is gone

Selfish player whose freekicks don't beat the first man, corners don't beat the first man and cant tackle

Rant over but this guy seems to avoid criticism but Almunia who made 3 man of the match saves straight away gets hammered on here for an error in the last minute...the game should have been dead and buried by then!!

He is one of the most talented players in the squad. it is down to the coach to work and get his head up to see other options and get him out of the greediness he has to make better choices. But then again some of the top players are like that. They have a hunger and drive to be the best. He has got 10 goals from midfield this season and has been sidelined for a longish period. Not bad really and how many less points would we have had without his goals?

The reason he's not a popular player is he doesn't put the effort in, yes he may be talented but lazy and doesn't know how to tackle, he needs a kick up the backside more than coaching.

He won't change and was exactly the same at Forest

Man from Pinner says...

If the MOM award was for the first half performance LM would have a chance. But he was non existent in the second half apart from failing to put TD or FF in on goal as referred to previously. Football is a 90 minute plus game; other players manage so LM has to get used to it or run the risk of losing his place in the team.
