The Watford Friendly League has become only the second league in Hertfordshire to achieve Charter Standard league status.

Charter Standard status is an FA kite mark designed to show that the recipient has achieved and maintained high standards.

In achieving Charter Standard status, the Watford Friendly League join the Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League as the only status holders in Hertfordshire.

All teams in a Charter Standard league must have a level one qualified coach with every team as well as emergency aid and safeguarding qualifications.

Leagues must also have a development plan in place to ensure that they continue to grow and offer football for children of all abilities.

Formed in 1970, the Watford Friendly League boasts over 9,000 players and arranges over 200 games every week as well 30-40 cup finals over two weekends in May.
