Two local golfers are competing in the Senior Women's Amateur Championship at Sandy Lodge this week.

The tournament is open to players over the age of 50 and runs from April 22 to 25.

Split into two rounds, the first round is stroke play, with 36 holes spread across two days.

The second day is match play, with the 16 lowest scorers progressing to the Championship Flight Match Play in May. The next 16 lowest scorers progress to the Flight Two Match Play.

Moira Sleeman is the only Sandy Lodge member competing and currently sits 76th on the leaderboard with a score of 182, leaving her 38 over par after the first two days.

Bushey Hall Golf Club's Mandy Rooke is another local entrant, currently sitting in 53rd place with a gross score of 172 - 28 over.
